N.C. Happe is a Canadian-American writer currently living in Chicago. Her
recent work has appeared in journals such as Kenyon Review, Longreads, Ninth Letter, Guernica, and Indiana Review, and has also been
featured in Roxane Gay’s newsletter, The Audacity.
She is the 2025 Luminarts Fellow in Prose and has also received additional fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center, Monson Arts, Ragdale, and the Norton Island Residency for Artists and Writers. Selections from her manuscript-in-progress have won 2024 Disquiet
International Literary Prize as well as the 2025 StoryStudio Chicago Emerging
Writer’s Award. N.C. holds an MFA from Northwestern University’s Litowitz
Program, where she received the 2025 Jo Minow Prize for best unpublished full-length
manuscript.
